About Us
How we can help you:
We are passionate about helping you organize and preserve your precious memories. Whether you have shoeboxes full of unorganized photos or collections in non-archival albums. Over time, magnetic self-stick album pages can degrade your photos leading to fading, yellowing and potential tearing, when removed. This is due to the acidic glue and unstable plastic covers. Digitizing your collection is an important first step in preserving your collection for future generations.
It is also important to scan your slides and negatives. We always recommend scanning from negatives (the original camera capture) when available. A negative will almost always render a scanned image with higher resolution, truer color, and overall better quality than a scanned print of the same image. Plus, we enjoy unearthing hidden treasures found in film negatives! Sometimes we find never-before-seen photos because the print may be missing from your collection.
We love what we do!
Fun Fact:
The typical family photo archive includes 5,000-10,000 printed photos.
How Keeping Stories began:
How many times have you heard someone say, or thought to yourself, “I wish I could hear my loved one’s voice again,” or “Grandpa used to tell the best stories.” Unfortunately, once that person passes, these stories are often lost forever. Keeping Stories was originally created to preserve the everyday stories of an individual while capturing their voice, personality, laughter and mannerisms.
We do this by recording their stories either by audio or video, whichever is more comfortable for them. These recordings can be one story or several — the memorable chapters of their life that they’d like to preserve and share with their loved ones. By capturing these precious memories, the stories can live on for future generations. We still offer this as one of our special services. This makes the perfect gift for celebrating milestone events such as a birthday, an anniversary or retirement! You can view samples by clicking here: Legacy Videos.
